Alice A. (Roepke) Schumacher Pruemer, 83, passed away at 11:10 p.m., October 19, 2014 at her home in Teutopolis.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Hospice or to the American Red Cross. Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis is assisting the family with arrangements.

Alice was born July 18, 1931 in Bishop Creek, the daughter of Aloysius and Margaret (Meinhart) Roepke. She married Joseph Schumacher in 1949 and he preceded her in death in 1978. Alice then married Albert "Red" Pruemer in 1980 and he preceded her in death in 2003. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the St. Francis Council of Catholic Women.

Alice is survived by her four sons, Tom (Jayne) of Effingham, Gerald (special friend, Jana Morris) of Santa Fe, NM, Patrick (Amy) of Effingham and Gene (Linda) of Altamont; three daughters, Karla (fiancé, William Frank) Thoele of Chatham, Kathy (John) Pals of Teutopolis and Paula Lueken of Teutopolis; two step-sons, Dan (Myra) Pruemer of Teutopolis and Jim (Brenda) Pruemer of Altamont; three step-daughters, Pat (Joe) Hacke of Voorhees, NJ, Mary Carol (Ken) Bierman of Bishop Creek and Jane Pruemer of Cincinnati, OH; sisters-in-law, Marlene Roepke of Altamont, Margaret Pruemer of Teutopolis and Madonna Lustig of Effingham; brother-in-law, Anthony Schumacher of Teutopolis; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 14 great-step-grandchildren also survive.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; infant son, David; two brothers, Richard and Robert Roepke; sister, Eileen Meyer and one great-step-grandchild.
