Agnes E. Walk, 88, of Effingham, passed away at 3:49 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Effingham, with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery, Sigel. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church, Effingham. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, is in charge of arrangements. Agnes was born in the Green Creek area, the daughter of Anthony and Sophia (Schwerdt) Kaufman. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Sacred Heart Council of Catholic Women. She married Charles J. Walk on June 23, 1945, and he preceded her in death in 1998.

Surviving are 11 children, Jo Ann (Dick) Sutton of Sebring, Fla., Sue (Ron) White of Effingham, Doris Johnson of Effingham, Vera (Dr. Charles) Runde of Teutopolis, Art (Penny) Walk of Neoga, Marlene (Alan) Burton of Dieterich, Bonnie (Dennis) Siebert of Altamont, Delores (Dave) Pals of Beecher City, Stan (Debbi) Walk of Louisville, Ky., Bev (Dave) Awalt of Effingham and Kevin (Amy) Walk of Momence; one brother, Albert (Edith) Kaufman of Effingham; 24 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles "Chuck"; three brothers, Adolph "Bud," Clifford and James; and two sisters, Norma Hoene and Sister Marie Therese, OSF; son-in-law, Paul Haarmann.
