Agnes A. Haarmann, 81, of Effingham, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Effingham Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday afternoon at the Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 3:30 p.m. C.C.W. and C.D. of A. combined rosary. Agnes was born January 31, 1931 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Leo and Emma (Koelsch) Vahling. She married Wilbert J. Haarmann on October 11, 1952 and he preceded her in death in 2008. Agnes was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham, Catholic Daughters and America, Council of Catholic Women, the Third Order of St. Francis and the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary.
Agnes is survived by one son, Donald; one brother, Louis (Carol) Vahling of Sigel; 15 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews also survive.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Wilbert.
